Whether your business is big or small, a start-up or established, tradeshows can be intimidating and overwhelming. You’ll be in a sea of businesses and oftentimes right next to your competitors.

So, what do you do to look prepared? What do you do to stand out?

1

Find out the who, what, where, when, why, and how.

The first thing you will want to do is get in-touch with the organizer of the tradeshow to find out the specifics of the event – layout of the area, size of display table or area you will have, if there is space for a sign, electrical outlets, and anything else that may not be included.
2

Stand out from the crowd.

With a variety of businesses vying for a visitor’s attention, you will want to do your best to stand out from the other tables or booths around you. One simple way to do this is by incorporating food. Yes, you heard that right. Everyone loves a snack, especially when it is free. Having something like a popcorn or snow cone machine will have everyone at the trade show pushing and shoving their way to your table (well, hopefully not pushing and shoving).
3

Know what’s included.

Always check and check again – most trade shows will include a table and even a tablecloth, while others may offer skirting and perhaps even an easel. Oftentimes, these included features will look the same for everyone. However, if you want something a little different, you will need to take that upon yourself.
4

Let everyone know where you are.

Don’t be afraid to use your website and social media to let your potential and current clients know that you will be participating in a trade show, especially if you will be offering any deals or giveaways for anyone who visits your table. Whatever you choose to use to encourage more traffic will only increase awareness.
